How to create tickers for TickerTag ( Sliders and Rulers tutorial )

Creating tickers is not that difficult. The main thing to remember is file size , file type, and properties.

  1. File size for rulers is 420 pixels x 35 pixels. File size for sliders is 35 pixels x 35 pixels.
  2. The file type must be PNG , not gif or jpg or bmp.
  3. The file properties, must be set to transparent when creating a ticker.

Ruler Tutorial ( For this we will be using Adobe Photoshop )

Open Photoshop and click File >> New >>
Step one in creating a ticker in photoshop, is to set the image properties. Here we set size of image, in pixels, and contents is set as transparent.
Click OK

Our image is now ready to work on
After clicking ok, we now have a blank canvas to create our ticker. Notice the image is grayed out, because we chose transparent.

Lets fill the image with colour ( Lets say Sky )
We fill the image with colour, using Photoshops fill tool.

Lets add some bits and pieces ( Lets say Grass and Hills )
By using the brush tool, and changing colour, set brush to 19 and paint the grass and hills in. Adobe is really easy to use.

Lets add the Sun , a golf ball and the Tee
We now add detail to our ticker, adding the sun, a golf flag and golf ball.

Now lets save this image. goto File >> Save As >>
When we are happy, we can save our image in Photoshop. Click File then save as, choose a location to save your file, and a filename. In this case we chose Golf. Not quite Arnold Palmer, but it looks ok. Then click save
Enter a File name ( Golf in this example and click Save )
ensure that Format is set to PNG

Now we need to upload the image:

1. Make sure you are logged in. Then Make sure you are logged on, and select , go to your userpanel. This is where you can upload your image to our servers.
2. In Once in Userpanel, it really is quite simple. select click the button, submit a ticker.
3. Choose Slider or Ruler , click Browse ( locate your design ), then click Add using the browse buttn, locate the file you saved. Select if its a ruler or a slider for the ticker. Then click ADD
4. You will be redirected to our confirmation page, if upload is successful.

Thats all there is to it ! Create as many as you want.


Once we have approved your Ticker, it will be available for all to use. Here is a ticker I created using the Golf theme above.
After submitting your ticker, and its approval. It will be ready for use. Just log into our site, and Create a Ticker. Scroll thru our sliders/rulers until you find the one you designed. We even put your username against the ticker for everyone to see. How simple is that?

The HTML code, FORUM code or EZboard code can then be copied and pasted wherever you want. Generally adding the code to your forum signature or webpage.
